In short: this website does not collect your personal information. It has no forms, no accounts, no cookies and no analytics. If you contact Amanda by WhatsApp or phone, she receives your number and whatever you send, and uses it to book and carry out your appointment.
Who we are
Amanda's Nails is owned and run by Amanda Ndlovu from a commercial unit at 110 Louis Street, Ontdekkers Park, Roodepoort. Amanda Ndlovu is the responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and acts as the Information Officer. Contact: 072 042 6628 (call or WhatsApp) or [email protected]. Most people contact us on WhatsApp, and you can make any request there; the email is for people who prefer it.
What we collect
- On this website: nothing directly. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, time of visit) to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- When you contact us: your name, phone number, messages and any photos you send, by WhatsApp or phone.
- When you book a treatment: client details and treatment history. For some treatments we ask about allergies or skin conditions. This is health information, which POPIA treats as special personal information, and we only record it with your consent.
We collect this directly from you. We do not collect it from anyone else.
Gallery photos: the photos of nail work on this site may show clients' hands. If you appear in a photo and want it removed, call or WhatsApp us and we will take it down.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Fonts are hosted on this site, not by a third party. The WhatsApp buttons open WhatsApp, which is run by Meta and has its own privacy policy.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and arrange your booking: needed to take steps you ask for.
- To carry out your treatment safely: your consent, for health information.
- To keep client records: our legitimate interest in running the studio, and any legal duty to keep records.
We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for marketing.
Who we share it with
Our website hosting provider (server logs) and WhatsApp/Meta (messages you send us). Both may process data outside South Africa under their own terms and safeguards. We do not control this.
How long we keep it
Messages and client records are kept while you are a client, and deleted when you ask us to, unless the law requires us to keep them.
Your rights
You can ask us to: tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or stop using it, or give you a copy in a usable format. You can withdraw consent at any time. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
This website is not aimed at children. If we learn that a child's information reached us through the website, we will delete it.
Security
We limit access to client records to the people who need them. No method of storage or transfer is completely secure.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
